The mission of The Harris County Hospital District Foundation is to enhance the broad healthcare mission of the Harris Health System by soliciting and raising funds for programs, and increasing the community’s awareness of the Harris Health System. The HCHD Foundation has created and sponsored over the years a number of annual events in the community with the goal of raising community awareness about the HCHD Foundation, Harris Health System, the patients served while, at the same time, raising funds targeted for a specific Harris Health System program or service.
HCHD Foundation Annual Events
The TexasMedRun is 10K, 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1K Run for the whole family! Together, we are making a positive impact in the lives of those served by the Harris Health System.
The 2023 Swing Fore The Greens Golf Tournament will raise funds for the Remote Patient Monitoring Program for Maternal Health Equity initiative led by Harris Health System’s Population Health Department and Maternal Health Service Line.
The HCHD Foundation, through the Silver Tea, raises funds for the Nursing Leadership Fund – providing stipends for books, fees, and time off pay to full time nursing service employees who are in the process of pursuing advance nursing.
The HCHD Foundation’s Harris Health Employee Giving Campaign allows every member of the Harris Health System family to support through a personal financial contribution, a specific Harris Health Pavilion’s designated project or other Harris Health System projects.
HCHD Foundation keeps his legacy alive through the Ben Taub Humanitarian Award, which honors those philanthropic individuals who have also made significant contributions to Houston.
