The Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) is pleased to present The HCHD Foundation Swing Fore The Greens Golf Tournament!
The Swing Fore The Greens Golf Tournament raised funds for the Harris Health System LBJ Hospital Community Farm.
The LBJ Hospital Community Farm provides fresh produce through an award-winning farm-to-hospital prescription program for LBJ Hospital patients suffering from food insecurity. An estimated 55% of the population in LBJ Hospital’s major service area live below the federal poverty level and more than 13,000 residents suffer from daily hunger.
The program also features “walk-and-learn” sessions with patients by dietitians who teach participants about food selection and its effects on their health and provide patients the tools to prepare to prepare the food they receive for their specific health condition.
We would like to thank the sponsors, vendors, and participants for joining us in support of the HCHD Foundation Golf Tournament, “Swing Fore the Greens” with proceeds supporting the Harris Health System LBJ Hospital Community Farm to support those patient’s nutritional needs.
