Texas Med Run

Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) announces the 14th Annual Texas Med Run 5K and 10K Run to be held on February 6, 2016. Funds raised from this event will support a critical need in our community — providing immunizations through Harris Health System’s Troubleshooters Mobile Immunization Program. Immunizations are the key to preventing the spread of disease through the general population. It benefits the people who receive them, the vulnerable, and the unvaccinated people around them, because it prevents infection from spreading. Immunization also reduces the number of deaths and disability from infections such as Whooping Cough, Influenza and Chicken Pox. It is the most basic yet fundamental way to keep our community healthy.

The Lester and Sue Smith Foundation will again collaborate with us to present the Texas Med Run. The Lester and Sue Smith Foundation recognize the importance of a healthy community for all of us — and we know you do too.

Some of the features of our 2016 event will include:

  • A timed 10K Run, 5K Run and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run
  • 25+ Community Vendor Booths
  • FREE Kids Zone featuring Bounce Houses, a Rockwall, Obstacle Courses, Face Painting, and more!
