Original Ben Taub Shock Room Tiles

Harris County Hospital District Foundation Trustee, Dr. Kenneth Mattox, MD, FACS, not only shared historical information about the history of Harris Health System with the guest of the 2019 Silver Tea, hosted at the lovely home of Lisie and Jay Houren, but also collected tiles from the original Ben Taub Hospital to share.  Each tile was signed and dated by Dr. Mattox stating, “Original Ben Taub Hospital Emergency Center Shock Room Tile – 1989”, and were sold at the Silver Tea for $100 each.  Proceeds from the sale of the tiles will benefit the Nursing Leadership Program.
