Increasing Fundraising Capacity and Expertise

Patricia Spencer has joined the Foundation team, as Grant Director. Spencer experience spans over 20-years specializing in public funding and in the administration of public grant awards. Most recently, she oversaw a grant portfolio for a large Houston area healthcare system of more than $80 million in research, education, and community service grants. While in this role, Spencer led the grant writing team for an ambitious federal grant project resulting in the largest grant award in the history of that healthcare system and one of the largest community partnership projects in TMC history.

Several funding distribution strategies designed by Spencer, operationalizing the financial and contractual aspects of the award, were adopted by the funding agency as standard practice for all grant recipients.

Spencer broad background and historical knowledge of public and private funded services have been instrumental in her ability to increase the operational capacity and revenue of non-profits and local government social and healthcare programs.
