The Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) joined other nonprofits on Tuesday, October 15th in Memorial High School’s Library to help celebrate the success of the Communities In Schools (CIS) program there!
The CIS program, including their Mental Health Initiative and Mobile Mental Health Team, are supported by the HCHD Foundation Children’s Health Fund. We were excited to learn about the positive impact of this program; which, affects the students, teachers, and parents lives!
Collaborating with more than 300 community agencies, CIS of Houston provides mental health counseling and basic needs to more than 170,000 students and their families each year by bringing local expertise and services directly to school campuses.
To help provided additional CIS of Houston’s Mental health services, the CIS Mobile Mental Health (MMH) Team regularly travel to targeted CIS campuses throughout the school year to provide no-cost mental health interventions to students in need, especially those students in crisis.
