The Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) is excited to bring awareness about the Harris Health System School of Diagnostic Medical Imaging Program! This program offers medical radiology, medical sonography, graduate fellowship in computed tomography, and graduate fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging.

These unique hospital-based programs offer students the valuable opportunity to train using leading-edge medical technology in Ben Taub Hospital, one of only two level 1 trauma centers in Houston, and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, a level III trauma center.

Did you know that an average daily census of 492 patients per day will utilize the services offered through this program?

The Harris Health System Radiology program has been awarded an 8-year accreditation award – the highest accreditation award presented by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), whom promotes excellence in education and enhances quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of education programs; such as, the School of Diagnostic Medical Imaging!

The HCHD Foundation grants $100,000.00 to the School of Diagnostic Medical Imaging Program!

Funds raised will purchase Medical Imaging Equipment. This equipment will be used in a new clinical lab to teach students how to position patients for x-rays, how to manipulate x-ray equipment, and to perform simulated exams by the use of the equipment.
