Employee Disaster Relief Program

Over 22 years ago, the Employee Disaster Relief Fund was established to assist employees facing financial hardship during a personal crisis or a natural disaster. The Fund relies primarily on individual donations from employees, community, and support from the HCHD Foundation.

In FYE23, the Harris Health Employee Disaster Relief Committee reviewed applications from employees seeking assistance. At the request of Harris Health System, the HCHD Foundation processed and expedited 23 approved grants totaling $49,055.00 through the Employee Disaster Relief Fund. 

Since the inception of this program and continued collaboration of the employees, $681,661.00 have been awarded to the employees of Harris Health System during times of crisis.

A special thank you to the employees of Harris Health System for their continuing financial support of the Employee Disaster Relief Fund for demonstrating kindness towards your fellow coworkers, to the generosity of the HCHD Foundation friends, supporters, and partners.
