Who are we?
SCRUBS Young Professional Group is an arm of the Harris County Hospital District Foundation that is comprised of young supporters who are passionate about improving the quality of health care in Harris County. Through their volunteering, awareness, outreach, and fundraising efforts, they help to advance the mission of the Harris Health System.
These young professionals are up-and-coming leaders in the Houston community and their involvement within the Foundation serves to ensure continued support for the organization. It is with their enthusiasm, vision and passion that the Foundation’s legacy of philanthropy will continue to live on and support the Harris Health System.
How were the founding members involved?
Founding members created the SCRUBS organization with the help of the Harris County Hospital District Foundation team. We created a few events (happy hours, volunteer events and our main Cinco de Bingo fundraiser) to spread the word and quickly filled the organization up with new members.

The SCRUBS Young Professional Group signature fundraiser, Cinco de Bingo, is held annually in May. This lively bingo night not only raises money for Harris Health, it also raises awareness about the foundation. The event provides an opportunity to educate attendees about the health care needs in Harris County, as well as recruit other passionate young professionals to get involved in the cause.
