John Adkins represents clients in general business transactions, including representation of financial institutions in lending transactions, regulatory situations, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Adkins works with public and private companies and individuals on matters involving corporate and securities, real estate, insurance, and administrative law.  The businesses he represents are in industries such as food products, real estate,
construction materials, energy, technology, and transportation. He often works with entrepreneurs and established businesses in financing transactions, contracts, stock options, employment agreements, and corporate governance.

Prior to joining Blank Rome, Mr. Adkins was a partner at a Texas-based law firm. He previously served as senior vice president/general counsel of a Houston-based bank, and as a senior officer of a public company providing diversified financial services throughout the United States. While in law school, he was the managing editor of the Texas Law Review.

Mr. Adkins is a member of the University of Texas’ 40 Acres Scholarships Steering Committee, Law School Alumni Association Executive Council, and Development Board. He previously served as president of Texas Exes (2005-2006), UT’s alumni association. Mr. Adkins is on the Senatorial Committee for screening Texas applicants for U.S. military academies, and has also served as chairman of several
