2015 Silver Tea Benefits Harris Health Nurses

2015 Silver Tea Benefits Harris Health Nurses

In support of Harris Health nurses, the 2015 Silver Tea special event will take place on May 19. The annual event was started by the Harris County Hospital District Foundation to raise money for the Nursing Practice and Professional Advancement’s Work-School Program. The Nursing Leadership programs began in the fall of 2008 with funding provided by HCHD Foundation.

Nursing Leadership funding has sponsored mentorship, education, and hands-on learning for Harris Health nurses to learn about evidence-based practice and nursing research in clinical practice. In turn, this research enables high-quality health and healing services to all patients receiving care at Harris Health System.

Proceeds from the Silver Tea provide continuing education and leadership training opportunities for Harris Health Nursing Staff including stipends for books, fees, and paid time off to full-time nursing service employees who are working on pursuing advance nursing degrees. By enriching the experience and education of our nurses, we can give back to the entire medical community.

The 2015 event will take place from 2-4 p.m. on May 19 at the Gautier-Winther Residence thanks to Florence and Frederic Gautier-Winther. To attend the event or provide support for the Nursing Leadership Fund, CLICK HERE by May 7. To contribute to the fund after the event, donate here.
